The spreader shown above was milled from 1/2 x 3 inch hot rolled steel. This part will be bolted to the lower frame rails behind the main drivers.
The rear spreader incorporates the pin for the drawbar to the tender.
This is the setup I used to drill the holes in the top frame rails and the rear extensions.
